Alliance of African Christian Churches & Ministries

The Alliance of African Christian Churches & Ministries is affiliated with Jubilee Resources as well as the Jubilee Insitute of Biblical Studies, based in New Zealand.

The goal is to provide training courses which are jointly focused on relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ, having a sound Bible basis with practical outworking; to enhance the unity of the Body of Christ by seeking to replace spiritual and moral compromise and jealousy with appropriate standards of Christian education and ethics; and providing where needed a spiritual accountability network for Christian Churches and leaders.

Jubilee Resources is a registered Educational and Religious charitable (not-for-profit) trust in New Zealand. Jubilee publish and distribute a wide range of Christian literature, as well as run seminars and training courses. Other branches of Jubilee have been registered in Australia, Canada and the USA. The courses of study (and the certificate/diplomas available on successful completion of those courses) will be set by JIBS.

To provide a vehicle for these courses to be available in Africa, and working with local pastors & other ministry leaders who have identified the need for these courses and accountability, "The Alliance of African Christian Churches and Ministries" has been registered in Zambia, and further national branches will be established as required. Jubilee will assist with copies of the course materials, & will also issue the Diplomas. Accountability mechanisms will be in place.

MEMBERSHIP of AACCM

Pastoral Membership will require agreement with the Articles of Faith and the Code of Ministry Conduct and Ethics (see next page). Ordination Credentials are also available, with accountability. The Executive would arrange a time and place for the Ordination to occur.

Church Membership - requires 3 office-bearers to sign the Articles of Faith and the Code of Ministry Conduct and Ethics. Individual churches, regardless of denominational ties, may become members.

A Certificate of Membership will be sent, and members will then be able to access the printed materials published by Jubilee at a special discounted price. Details on how to apply for the various training courses and resource materials will also be available. The training courses envisaged will include; a 40 week Diploma course aimed to equip Pastors and others with a mature faith in Christ. Especially designed for Pastors, this will be able to be incorporated in sermon material to provide a solid Bible foundation of sound doctrine for their congregations. It will also be of considerable benefit for those considering God's call into the Pastoral ministry.

Other courses aimed more at church members will focus on Evangelism and Discipleship, and general Bible Studies for personal spiritual growth. These will include suitable tests and assignments to reliably assess each student's grasp of the subject involved. Courses will be designed with the language, educational and cultural style unique to African needs. The goal of these courses is to grow the maturity of a student's relationship with Jesus Christ with a sound Bible-based and practical emphasis empowered by Holy Spirit dependence.

Recent Developments in Zambia

We have held a number of training conferences. The photo shows the Kitwe Pastors' Association meeting - with about 100 pastors attending. I also spoke at several other meetings and conferences. Many pastors want to stand for President of Zambia, but wisdom says that if they can't pastor a large church of say 3000 people, then we have to wonder what skills they would have for running a nation of 11 million?

I am thrilled that so many African pastors take what I have taught them seriously. Pastor Caleb Katontoka, who often translates for me each time I am in Zambia, told me of a church in Luanshua which had asked him to come and minister. Only the Pastor and 3 elders were not addicted to alcohol. He taught them what I taught April 2005, on Generational Iniquities issues. Within a week the grip of alcoholism had been broken, and the entire church is now free from this scourge.

The Alliance has just published several book titles which are now available for purchase from ZamKiwi MaxiMarts around the Copperbelt province of Zambia. (More about these on next page.) The titles will be greatly of value to Christians in Africa.

Mufilira, Zambia

This photo shows the executive members of Calvary Church Ministries, a growing Christian denomination in Northern and Copperbelt Provinces. Bishop Paul Sikazwe is seated in front of me. At their annual conference, as well as sessions just with their Executive, the evidence was clear that these are spiritual hungry people. They are Kingdom-focussed, and know they need equipping to a different level to fulfill their calling in God. They are so keen to learn, three of their pastors travelled non-stop for three days to reach where I was speaking. That is very humbling and shows the urgency of much evangelism and outreach in Africa.

Kitwe, Zambia

Jubilee Resources official Affiliate in Zambia, the Alliance of African Christian Churches and Ministries, held a board meeting while I was present. The photo was taken outside following the meeting, and shows the garment they had made for me. I am glad it was so loose as the temperature was 38 to 39 degrees celsius (almost 100F) most days, and seldom went below 30 degrees during the evenings. Remind me not to visit again in October - their hotest month.

I was interviewed with Bishop Justin Sichula, the AACCM Vice-President, live on the national secular TV Breakfast programme about the work of the Alliance.

STATEMENT OF FAITH - We Believe...

All members of the Alliance of African Christian Churches and Ministries affirm the following:

1. In one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This God is the creator and sustainer of all things.
2. God in revealing Himself inspired the Holy Scriptures so they are entirely trustworthy and have supreme authority in all matters of doctrine, faith and conduct.
3. All people were made for fellowship with God but have disobeyed Him, so all people have become sinners, guilty in His sight and alienated from Him.
4. In our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh yet truly human, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin. Even though He remained sinless, He took on Himself the sin of the world and died on the cross of Calvary as our representative and substitute. God showed His love for all people and provided the only way for them to be forgiven from the guilt penalty, set free from the power of sin and reconciled fully to Him through the atoning death, shed blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
5. In the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, His ascension into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father, in His personal physical return and the judgement of all the world by Him.
6. The Holy Spirit brings people to individually trust Christ, repent of their sins and be baptised in water as Jesus commanded. He lives in them, and develops their new lives in Christ, thus enabling the believer to live a holy life, and to work and witness for Him in the fellowship of the Church which is the Body of Christ.
7. The Holy Spirit equips the Church to carry out God's purposes through the baptism of the believer with the Holy Spirit as evidenced by spiritual fruit and gifts.
8. In the resurrection of the body, the eternal blessedness of God's presence of the righteous, and the eternal punishment and separation from God of the wicked.

Declaration & Code of Ethics & Conduct of the Alliance of African Christian Churches & Ministries

I will seek to walk in obedience to God and to His Word, with a life morally pure and with good relationships with others, as far as it is in my power.

I agree that part of the reason for my involvement in Christian ministry is due to my relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ, and this means I must maintain a regular devotional time of reading, meditating and applying God's written word in my life, as well as to develop a personal and powerful prayer life, with praise and thanksgiving to God, being submitted to God as He deals with any of my attitudes which are less than pleasing to Him, and bringing the needs of my nation, my congregation, my family and myself before the throne of grace, on a regular basis.

I will seek to nurture all family relationships, including my own, and will not neglect my spouse, children, parents or other family members.

I will seek to bring healing and restoration to wholeness of all those given to my care.

As an Ambassador of Jesus Christ, I will seek to bring reconciliation between any Christian brothers and sisters who may be in dispute, encouraging forgiveness by all involved, and fair restitution by anyone where that is appropriate.

I promise to seek to minister in the grace and love of God to those given to my pastoral care, placing service to both God and the congregation above my personal position or income.

With God's help, I will seek to bring into spiritual maturity all those given to my care, with integrity and wisdom, and will seek to train up other leaders in the same attitudes.

I will hold as sacred all confidences shared with me. If any just or moral law has been broken, I will encourage repentance, reconciliation and restitution by those involved.

I will endeavour to bless my congregation with honest, Bible-based and Holy Spirit-inspired teaching and encouragement, and I will not seek to discredit other Christian churches, criticise their pastors or leaders, or solicit members from their congregations, but will seek to maintain the unity and welfare of all the Christian church including the congregation to which God has called me and given me responsibility for.

I will not seek to control my congregation with any mind control techniques, or by using intimidation, manipulation, or domination. Instead I will encourage the priesthood of all believers so all the members of my congregation may grow in Christian maturity, and show both the fruit of the Holy Spirit, and also using such spiritual gifts and authority as God provides, in love and humility, and primarily to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

I will choose to be teachable and accountable to God, to my denomination and congregation, to the Jubilee Institute of Biblical Studies and the Alliance of African Christian Churches and Ministries, with a servant heart for the highest good for the whole Christian family.

I will not engage in any sexual harassment or abuse, which is defined as deliberate or repeated jokes, comments, gestures, attitudes, eye contact or physical contacts of a sexual nature, or which make that person feel uncomfortable, tainted or shamed.

I will not consult with any witchdoctor, witch, shaman, spiritist, sorcerer, diviner, occultist, cult leader or heretic, and I will actively encourage my congregation and any others to similarly stay away from all spiritual deception.

I hereby renounce any and every consultation with any witchdoctor, witch, shaman, spiritist, sorcerer, diviner, occultist, cult leader or heretic, and agree to seek appropriate ministry from those able to provide such ministry for me. I will also choose to be better trained and equipped so I can minister spiritual liberty and the breaking of all spiritual and other bondages in the same way for my people, and to train others to assist with such ministry.

I agree that all allegations or suggestion of misconduct by myself or any other member of Jubilee Institute of Biblical Studies and the Alliance of African Christian Churches and Ministries should be brought to the notice of the Executive as soon as possible so such matters may be resolved, misunderstandings allayed, or appropriate disciplinary action taken, as may be required. I also understand that the privileges of membership may be suspended if the allegation is both serious and proven, pending repentance of those guilty. Any lack of genuine repentance or a second offence will result in expulsion and notification to all members and any others as appropriate.
